We were fortunate enough to have our launch headlined by the fantastic Jade Cuttle (Rrose Sélavy), a BBC Introducing Contemporary Folk Singer-Songwriter. You can find her on Facebook here or follow her Soundcloud page here to keep up with the release of music videos and her upcoming EP, ‘I am like the tree‘. She began with a performance of ‘The River’, which we published in verse-form in issue 36 and which you can watch here.
Before Jade’s performance, our crowd was treated to a fantastic performance by Chick Vanilla. Straight from the iconic and legendary jazz club that is Ruthie Mott’s comes this eclectic collective. Whether you’re in need of a smoky, knee-weakening ballad or a riotous boogie this band has got you covered. The Notes audience in Downing Bar were certainly in for a treat.
You can still pick up a copy of Issue 36 here. If you’re interested in coming along to our next launch, come down to Clare Cellars on November 10th from 8.30pm – we’ll have more student groups performing and poets reading their work. If you’re a band interested in performing, comment below or message us at info@notespublication.com.
