The pieces collected within this issue are loosely themed around concepts of transference. From the whirling narrative of Asier Calbet’s ‘Hands off the Handlebars’ to the evocative imagery of Elena Violaris’ ‘Giselle’, writing in Notes 29 captures with precision the heights and lows of change and transition. Catherine Fleming’s cover photo, with its blend of the haunting and the beautiful, fit these themes perfectly. We have included an additional photo of hers below. We hope this issue inspires discussion and instigates the creation of new art.
