Submissions for footnotes are now closed, and the academic year here in Cambridge is quickly coming to an end. As a team, we are immensely proud of all that we have achieved running Notes over the year 2015 -2016. Special thanks needs to be given to the Fitzwilliam Museum, which allowed us to use a space within their building for Notes’ first writing workshop, and to Rebecca Watts, who so kindly led this first workshop to great success. Thanks needs to be given to The Heong Gallery at Downing College, who offered us their fantastic new space in support of the ekphrastic vision of our 34th fortnightly issue. And finally, a great thanks to Ali Smith, Paul Muldoon, Sarah Howe, Simon Armitage and Don Paterson, all of whom very kindly allowed us to republish or print for the first time pieces of theirs within the second issue of footnotes, accompanying this third annual.
We have decided to celebrate this year’s achievements by launching footnotes and our third annual, Notes Three, at a garden party event co-hosted by the Pembroke College Poetry Society (PemSoc). All who can make it are invited, and we hope to see as many of you there as possible. The garden party will be held in the Pembroke College Fellows’ Garden, on Monday June 13th from 2.30pm. Entry is £2 on the door, and there will be plenty of food, drink and poetry readings to enjoy on the day, as well as copies of footnotes and limited physical copies of our third annual being sold on the day.
We do hope to see you there if you can make it.
